Loop II Date: 04/25/2015
Day #267 (Saturday) 12 miles (3606 total miles)
Locks: 0 (30 total locks)
Bridges: 0 (4 total bridges)
Port #61: Treasure Cay, Great Abaco Island, BS
Marina: Treasure Cay Marina and Resort
Weather came into decision making
once again. After two days at Great
Guana Cay, Todd and I as well as Darhi and Doug decided to move on. Darhi and Doug made way back across the Whale
to Green Turtle Cay. Todd felt confident
that we had yet another day so we made way across the Abaco Sea to Treasure
Cay, just north of Marsh Harbor on Great Abaco Island.
Treasure Cay is known as having one
of the top 5 beaches in the world.
Weather had been a constant problem and our time in the Abacos was
growing short. This was one stop we
really wanted knowing it might be our last before turning to head north and
begin our trek back to the states.
Our trip was a short one and we made
Treasure Cay Marina without a problem.
Once we were secured to the dock, we headed toward the beach. It was all and more than we expected. There were few people on the beach so we were
able to get a couple of lounges under a tiki.
A reggae band was playing at the beach bar to add to the ambiance. The water beaconed and we found it very
comfortable. We floated around and
enjoyed the afternoon.

Paula Sue, Todd,
ReplyDeleteGreat blog. I am glad to see you are bloging again. Are you planning to finish your loop this year?? If you are I would like to invite you to Nova Scotia, Canada. From there you can complete a real "BIG" loop down the St Lawrence River.
EWC
The day will come when we travel the downeast Loop with includes going up the St. Lawrence and down the New England Coast. It won't be this year as we need to get back to Lake Erie. As long as good health stays with us, maybe in a year or two.
